Description

A healthier twist on the classic British dish, featuring crispy fish and homemade fries made in the air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large potatoes, cut into fries
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound white fish fillets (like cod or haddock)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Tartar sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Wash and cut the large potatoes into fry shapes.
  2. Toss the cut potatoes with olive oil and salt until well-coated.
  3. Place seasoned fries in the air fryer basket and cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket occasionally.
  4. Prepare the fish by mixing breadcrumbs, paprika, black pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl. In another bowl, beat the egg.
  5. Remove fries when golden and crispy. Dip each fish fillet into the beaten egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Place coated fish in the air fryer basket and cook for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Serve hot with fries and tartar sauce.

Notes

Serve with a slice of lemon and consider pairing with mushy peas or a simple salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
