Description

A comforting dessert featuring tender apples wrapped in flaky dough, drenched in a buttery cinnamon sauce, perfect for fall gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples, peeled and cored
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 can (12 oz) lemon-lime soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Peel and core the apples, then cut each into eight wedges.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and wrap each apple wedge in it, placing seam-side down in a greased baking dish.
  3. Melt 1 cup of butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in 1 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the buttery mixture over the dumplings and add 1 can of lemon-lime soda. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbling. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, drizzled with buttery sauce. For extra indulgence, top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
