Description
Bright, savory Asian-style wraps with ground turkey, crisp lettuce, and a sweet-savory glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 bell pepper, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lettuce leaves (e.g., Romaine or Butter lettuce)
- Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Gather and prepare all ingredients first. Finely chop the onion and bell pepper, grate the carrot, mince the garlic, and grate the ginger. Wash and dry the lettuce leaves.
- Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté 2–3 minutes until the onion becomes soft and fragrant.
- Add the ground turkey to the pan. Break it up with a spoon. Cook 5–6 minutes until browned and no longer pink.
- Stir in the grated carrot and chopped bell pepper. Cook 3–4 minutes until the vegetables soften but stay slightly crisp.
- Mix in a small bowl, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, 1 teaspoon grated ginger, and salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour the sauce over the turkey and vegetables. Cook 1–2 minutes, stirring, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Spoon the warm turkey mixture into lettuce leaves. Top with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
Notes
For serving, let guests build their own wraps and provide lime wedges or sriracha on the side.
