Description

Delightful cookies combining rich chocolate flavors with sweet cherries on a buttery base.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dried cherries or chopped maraschino cherries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend into the creamed mixture.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and cherries.
  6. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them apart, and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  7. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze the cookies separated by parchment paper.
