Description

These little snacks smell like warm cinnamon and sweet maple. Breakfast Pigs in Cinnamon Rolls are an easy treat that pairs soft dough with savory mini sausages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can of refrigerated cinnamon roll dough
  • 1 package of cocktail sausages or mini hot dogs
  • 1/4 cup of maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon of butter (optional)
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Open the can of cinnamon roll dough and separate the rolls on a clean surface.
  2. Take each roll and flatten it slightly with your fingers or a small rolling pin. Place a cocktail sausage at the center of each flattened roll and wrap the dough around the sausage to encase it. Pinch the seams to seal snugly.
  3. Place the wrapped sausages seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. If using butter, melt it and brush a thin layer over the tops of the rolls. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes or until the rolls are puffed and golden brown.
  4. Remove the tray from the oven. Drizzle each roll lightly with maple syrup and sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon if desired. Let cool for a minute or two, then serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm on a platter for brunch or quick breakfast. They can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
