Description

A delightful and flavorful traditional Korean dish made with marinated grilled beef, combining sweet and savory elements.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Mix well until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or for best results, overnight.
  3. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef into the pan. Cook for about 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently until the beef is nicely browned and cooked through.
  4. Serve the bulgogi hot over a bed of rice. Garnish with chopped green onions and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Notes

For maximum flavor, marinate the beef overnight. Feel free to add vegetables like sliced bell peppers or mushrooms for added nutrition.
