Description

A classic chocolate sheet cake that’s moist, rich, and perfect for any occasion. Easy to prepare and delightful in flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 18×13-inch sheet pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes. Stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before frosting it.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding a pinch of espresso powder to the dry ingredients. This cake can also be topped with fresh fruits or chocolate frosting.
