Description
Bright, herb-forward, and creamy, this Cilantro Garlic Sauce brings fresh flavor to tacos, grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and sandwiches.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or sour cream
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Gather the cilantro, garlic, yogurt (or sour cream), lime juice, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Rinse the cilantro and pat it dry. Peel the garlic. Measure the yogurt and lime juice so they are ready to go.
- Place the cilantro leaves, garlic, yogurt or sour cream, lime juice, salt, pepper, and olive oil into a blender or food processor. Secure the lid.
- Blend on high until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the bowl once or twice to ensure even texture. If the sauce is too thick, add 1–2 teaspoons of water or lime juice and blend again.
- Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning. Add more salt, lime, or garlic as needed. Serve immediately, or transfer to a jar and chill for at least 15 minutes to let flavors meld.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week in the refrigerator. Freezing is possible in ice cube trays for up to 2 months.
