Description

Delightful pretzel sticks combining soft, chewy texture with warm cinnamon and sugar flavors, perfect for snacking.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar (1/4 cup sugar mixed with 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon)
  • Coarse sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour and salt to the mixture and stir until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  5. After rising, divide the dough into small pieces and shape them into sticks.
  6. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add baking soda. Boil each pretzel stick for 30 seconds, then place on a baking sheet.
  7. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and coarse salt.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best freshness, eat the pretzels the same day they are made. Can be frozen for longer storage.
