Description
A quick and creamy dessert using cottage cheese for a smooth, slightly tangy treat that melts on the tongue.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cottage cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Measure all ingredients. Let the cottage cheese sit at room temperature for 10 minutes if you want an extra-smooth texture. Place your ice cream maker bowl in the freezer if required.
- In a blender, combine the cottage cheese, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, heavy cream, and a pinch of salt. Secure the lid.
- Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy, scraping the sides to ensure no lumps remain.
- Pour the blended mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually about 15–25 minutes until it reaches soft-serve consistency.
- Transfer the churned ice cream to a shallow, airtight container. Smooth the top, cover, and freeze until firm, about 4 hours.
- Serve scoops and enjoy!
Notes
For extra smoothness, press the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer before churning. Store in an airtight container to prevent ice crystals.
