Description

Delightful bite-sized treats that combine the airy texture of angel food cake with the crispy sweetness of churros.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package angel food cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the angel food cake mix according to the package instructions and bake. Allow the cake to cool completely before cutting.
  2. Cut the cooled cake into bite-sized pieces, about 1-2 inches in diameter.
  3. In a frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it’s hot but not smoking.
  4. In a bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon for the topping.
  5. Fry the angel cake pieces in the hot oil until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes on each side.
  6. Remove the fried bites and drain them on paper towels. While warm, roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until evenly coated.
  7. Serve the crispy churro bites warm and enjoy!
