Description
A delightful twist on a classic dish featuring tender meatballs simmered in a savory beef broth infused with French onion soup mix.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 packet French onion soup mix
- 1 egg
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chives or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, French onion soup mix, egg, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in size, ensuring they are compact for even cooking.
- Place the meatballs in the slow cooker. In a separate bowl, mix the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, then pour the mixture over the meatballs. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Once cooked, serve the meatballs warm, garnished with chives or parsley if desired.
Notes
To store leftovers, let the meatballs cool completely, then transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3-4 days. They can also be frozen for 2-3 months.
