Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Instructions
- Drain and rinse the chickpeas well. Mince the garlic and measure the tahini, olive oil, and lemon juice.
- Add the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, cumin, and a pinch of salt to your food processor.
- Blend until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides of the bowl.
- If the hummus is too thick, add water one tablespoon at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust salt, lemon, or garlic. Transfer to a bowl and drizzle a little extra olive oil on top, and sprinkle a pinch of paprika or chopped parsley if you like.
