Description

This creamy and bright hummus is perfect for snacking or party platters, made with pantry staples and ready in just five minutes.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse the chickpeas well. Mince the garlic and measure the tahini, olive oil, and lemon juice.
  2. Add the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, cumin, and a pinch of salt to your food processor.
  3. Blend until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides of the bowl.
  4. If the hummus is too thick, add water one tablespoon at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
  5. Taste and adjust salt, lemon, or garlic. Transfer to a bowl and drizzle a little extra olive oil on top, and sprinkle a pinch of paprika or chopped parsley if you like.

Notes

Serve with pita, vegetable sticks, or as a spread. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
