- 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1 tsp orange zest
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Cocoa powder, for dusting
- Chopped nuts or sprinkles, for decoration (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it begins to simmer.
- Remove from heat and pour the warm cream over the chopped chocolate. Stir until smooth.
- Add orange juice, zest, and vanilla extract; stir until combined.
- Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours, or until firm.
- Use a scoop to form small balls, rolling them between your palms.
- Roll truffles in cocoa powder or your choice of toppings.
- Refrigerate the coated truffles for another 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week, or freeze for up to three months.
