Description

A delightful twist on a classic breakfast favorite, these French Toast Roll-Ups combine the cozy flavors of French toast with a sweet surprise filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices of bread
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Nutella or jam (for filling)
  • Butter (for frying)
  • Powdered sugar (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin until it’s about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Spread a layer of Nutella or jam on each slice of flattened bread.
  3. Roll each slice of bread tightly into a cylinder.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar.
  5. Dip each roll in the egg mixture, coating all sides thoroughly.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter. Fry the coated rolls until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Remove from skillet and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Use thicker slices of bread like brioche or Texas toast for a heartier texture. Allow the skillet to heat fully for even cooking.
