- 6 slices of bread
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp sugar
- Nutella or jam (for filling)
- Butter (for frying)
- Powdered sugar (for serving)
Instructions
- Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin until it’s about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread a layer of Nutella or jam on each slice of flattened bread.
- Roll each slice of bread tightly into a cylinder.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar.
- Dip each roll in the egg mixture, coating all sides thoroughly.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter. Fry the coated rolls until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove from skillet and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Use thicker slices of bread like brioche or Texas toast for a heartier texture. Allow the skillet to heat fully for even cooking.
