Description
A quick, cozy weeknight meal featuring a rich and savory tomato sauce with ground beef and pasta.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz pasta
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. While the pasta cooks, chop the onion and mince the garlic.
- Add a splash of water or a little oil in a large skillet over medium heat, and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until softened and fragrant, about 3–4 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if there is a lot. Stir in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer for 5–10 minutes.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce mixture, stirring until well coated. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
Serve with a green salad and crusty bread to balance the richness.
