Description

A quick, cozy weeknight meal featuring a rich and savory tomato sauce with ground beef and pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. While the pasta cooks, chop the onion and mince the garlic.
  2. Add a splash of water or a little oil in a large skillet over medium heat, and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until softened and fragrant, about 3–4 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if there is a lot. Stir in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer for 5–10 minutes.
  4. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce mixture, stirring until well coated. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

Serve with a green salad and crusty bread to balance the richness.
