Description

A delightful beverage capturing the essence of fall, this homemade apple cider is perfect for cozy evenings or festive gatherings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1012 Apples
  • Water (enough to cover the apples)
  • Sugar (to taste, optional)
  • Cinnamon sticks (optional)
  • Cloves (optional)
  • Nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop the apples, leaving the skin on.
  2. Place the chopped apples in a large pot and cover with water.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 2 hours.
  4. Use a potato masher to mash the softened apples, then strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth.
  5. Taste your cider and add sugar and spices if desired, heating again to mix.
  6. Allow the cider to cool before serving, then refrigerate or enjoy warm.

Notes

Best served warm and can be garnished with cinnamon or a cinnamon stick. Store in airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
