Description

A comforting and satisfying casserole that combines savory beef, sautéed vegetables, and creamy cheese, all while keeping carbs low.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare all ingredients.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Sauté until vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the cream cheese and beef broth until smooth and combined.
  5. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Transfer to a baking dish, sprinkle provolone on top, and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider browning the beef with spices or swapping out the provolone for other melting cheeses. Leftover steak can be used for even richer flavor.
