A bright, sticky sauce that balances tropical mango sweetness with spicy habanero heat and savory garlic. Perfect for glazing grilled chicken, tossing with wings, or enhancing tacos and bowls.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
- 2 habanero peppers, seeded and chopped
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Peel and dice the mangoes into chunks. Seed and chop the habanero peppers, wearing gloves if sensitive, and mince the garlic.
- Place the mango, habanero, honey, garlic, and apple cider vinegar in a blender and blend until smooth. Add salt to taste.
- Pour the blended sauce into a saucepan and heat over medium, stirring often, for about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature before transferring to a jar and refrigerating.
Notes
Use gloves when handling habaneros. Adjust the heat by removing seeds or adding more mango. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for longer storage.
