Description

Ingredients

  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Green food coloring
  • Sprinkles or edible decorations

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C).
  2. Beat the egg whites in a clean mixing bowl until frothy.
  3. Add the cream of tartar and continue to beat until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually add sugar one tablespoon at a time while beating until glossy and stiff peaks form.
  5. Mix in vanilla extract and green food coloring until evenly colored.
  6. Transfer meringue to a piping bag fitted with a star tip and pipe into tree shapes on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 1 to 1.5 hours until crisp and easily lifts off parchment paper.
  8. Let the meringues cool completely.
  9. Decorate with sprinkles or edible decorations.
