Description

Ingredients

  • 1 box of vanilla cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • Food coloring (red, green, blue, yellow)
  • Buttercream frosting
  • Sprinkles (holiday-themed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and softened butter. Mix until smooth and fully combined.
  3. Divide the batter evenly into separate bowls, dyeing each portion with a different color using food coloring.
  4. In each cupcake liner, layer different colored batters to create a rainbow effect, filling the liners about two-thirds full.
  5. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center of a cupcake.
  6. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.
  7. Frost the cupcakes with buttercream frosting and top them with holiday-themed sprinkles.
