Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and softened butter. Mix until smooth and fully combined.
- Divide the batter evenly into separate bowls, dyeing each portion with a different color using food coloring.
- In each cupcake liner, layer different colored batters to create a rainbow effect, filling the liners about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center of a cupcake.
- Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.
