- 1/2 cup butter, softened

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth with a few small lumps.
- Cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
- Stir in mashed bananas until mixed.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just blended.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Drop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are light golden and centers look set but soft.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for 3–5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for best flavor. Do not overmix the batter to keep cookies tender.
