Description

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Allow it to sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour and salt. Mix well to evenly distribute the salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  6. Once risen, punch down the dough to release the air and spread it onto a greased baking sheet.
  7. Evenly spread the marinara sauce over the dough, then sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve hot.

Notes

For best results, use bread flour for a chewier crust. Experiment with different cheeses and toppings to customize your pizza.
