Description

Delightful chewy cookie bars that transform classic red velvet cake into a visually stunning dessert with white chocolate chips.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Mix in the red food coloring and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the white chocolate chips gently.
  7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before cutting into squares.

Notes

For more flavor, add almond extract. Substitute white chocolate chips with semi-sweet chocolate chips if desired.
