Description

A decadent cake that oozes chocolate goodness from every bite, perfect for any celebration.


Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate shavings (optional for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the eggs, whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Stir until well combined.
  4. Carefully stir in the boiling water, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  6. Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
  7. Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting and sprinkle with chocolate shavings if desired.
