Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz chocolate (melted, for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients, beating until smooth.
  4. Stir in boiling water and fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Divide batter among the pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool in pans for 10 minutes.
  6. For frosting, whip heavy cream and powdered sugar, then mix in melted chocolate.
