Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
- Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
