Description

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
  5. Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
