- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sugar (for coating)
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
- Mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and 1/4 cup sugar in a large bowl until combined.
- Cut in the cold, cubed butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the milk until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently, then roll out to about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut out biscuit shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Mix the remaining 1/4 cup sugar with 1 tablespoon cinnamon and sprinkle over the tops of the biscuit bites.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
Notes
For best results, ensure your butter is cold and do not over-knead the dough.
