Description

A festive, layered dessert featuring a crunchy Oreo crust, creamy cheesecake layers, and rich chocolate pudding, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 package Oreo cookies
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies or crushed Oreos for topping

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreo cookies in a food processor or place them in a ziplock bag and smash them with a rolling pin. Combine the crushed cookies with the melted butter. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish to form the crust. Chill in the fridge while you prepare the next layers.
  2. Beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl until smooth and lump-free. Gently fold in the whipped cream until the mixture is light and creamy. Spread half of this cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled cookie crust.
  3. Whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and milk in another mixing bowl until it thickens, about 2 minutes. Spread the prepared pudding evenly over the first cream cheese layer. Spoon the remaining cream cheese mixture on top of the pudding and smooth it into an even layer.
  4. Sprinkle the top with crushed peppermint candies or crushed Oreos. Cover the dish tightly and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, until the layers are set and firm. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

Press the crust firmly and chill long enough for neat slicing. Perfect for holiday parties, making ahead of time is recommended.
